IBM Navigator: A New Place to Start

By: Doug Wick

Adjacent has been in the business of helping our clients get started in the world of Enterprise Content Management, typically building out a content repository and layering on records management, case business process flow, advanced search and analytics capabilities over time. For many years we have been getting our clients started with that same ECM stack in the Cloud.

Now, IBM is moving quickly on a new product, Navigator in the Cloud. On the surface this looks like another entry into the File Synch and Share market along with the more consumer-focused Box or Dropbox and the more limited OneDrive. However, when you consider that IBM has been the far-and-away leader in Gartner’s ECM Quadrant for three years running and Navigator is deployed on IBM’s Softlayer, the most capable business-focused cloud hosting provider, you can see that this product could run away with the business market pretty quickly.

And they just launched an update with Office integration and new ways to extend using the magic of CMIS. Adjacent’s excited to give our clients another way to step lightly into the ECM space, with product capabilities from IBM that will take you as far as you want to go.
